Established in 2004, Union Steel has a history in steel. We supply steel tubes throughout the UK. Our steel tubes come in over more than 200 sizes, shapes and dimensions and can be cut to your specifications as part of our service.
Our steel tubes are made from ERW, Electric Resistance welded pipe. Starting life as a steel plate, this plate is then rolled up to shape a pipe and welded together using Electric Resistance Welding process, an electrical charge which fuses the pipe together. ERW steel tubes are high strength and corrosive resistant, resistance to deformability and long lasting. ERW Tubes are most frequently used in motorbike frames, cars, hospitals and furniture to name but a few. An ERW Tube due to its manufacturing process can be made to meet big diameters. At Union Steel we are able to offer tubes varying in sizes from 8mm to 101.6mm in diameter. We also produce a variant of shaped ERW tubes including, square, rectangular and oval.
At Union Steel we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and offer free cutting, deburring and plating on all of our ERW tubes. We use the latest tube cutting technology and depending on the use of your tubing can offer a service best suited to you. We have available laser cutting, handheld cutters and water jet cutters. Laser cutting provides a very precise, clean cutting method, while water jet cutters use abrasives such as silica sand and high pressure water giving a noiseless and vibration free cut allowing for work in occupied buildings.
We also offer a processing service for all our customers in which we can debur, zinc and chrome plate and galvanise tubes. Deburring removes any rough edges at the ends of steel tubes allowing for a more snug fit.
